Description

A grinder that turns at 160 RPM, where most turn at 1400.

Low speed is the specification worth choosing this machine on. Slow burrs put less frictional heat into the grind than fast ones, and the rest of the machine is built the same way, around one 30 g dose at a time rather than a hopper you keep full and purge when you change beans.

  • Less heat into the beans: 48 mm seven-core stainless steel conical burrs turning at 160 RPM, against the 1200–1600 RPM a conventional electric grinder runs at.
  • One dose at a time, by design: a 30 g chamber, two or three espresso shots, or one pour-over, instead of a reservoir you have to empty before switching coffees.
  • A setting you can write down: stepless adjustment on a numbered 0–100 ring, so a grind you like is a grind you can find again.
  • The chute gets cleared, not tapped: a press-to-air blower and a magnetic grounds cup come in the box, rather than being accessories you add later.

Who this is for, and who it isn't

A good fit if you single dose, change coffees often, and would rather find the blower and the magnetic cup included than assemble the workflow from separate purchases.

Look elsewhere if you grind for a full pot in one go, because a 30 g chamber and a 160 RPM motor are the opposite of fast. This is a deliberate trade, not an oversight. If you want a published grind-step count, because a stepless ring does not have one. And if you need the capacity settled before you buy, because the manufacturer's listing states a 30 g chamber in one place and "90 g or more" in another. We have reproduced both rather than choose between them.

These figures come from CAFOVO's own specification table, published as an image in its product listing rather than as text. We have transcribed it here so you can read it without zooming into a picture.

One figure is inconsistent across the documentation. We reproduce both rather than pick the flattering one:

  • Bean capacity: the specification table and the product imagery both state a 30 g single-dose hopper. The listing's own attribute block says "90 g or more". Two sources out of three say 30 g.

CAFOVO publishes no retention figure and describes retention only as near-zero, which is not a measurement, so we do not repeat it. A stepless ring has no grind-step count by definition, which is why none is listed. Ask us and we will request anything else from the supplier in writing before you buy.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping is free on every order. Orders are processed within 1–3 business days and delivered in 6–8 business days.

This model runs on 100–240 V, so the plug is the only thing that changes between variants. Choose the US plug and it arrives ready to use on a standard outlet, with no converter and no transformer.

Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery under our Refund Policy. There is no restocking fee. If anything about the condition of your order is wrong on arrival, contact us before doing anything else and we will sort it out with you.

Warranty

CAFOVO publishes no warranty term for this model, so we do not advertise one. If your unit arrives damaged or fails out of the box, contact us and we will take it up with the supplier on your behalf. If you want coverage confirmed in writing before you buy, ask us and we will get it.

What 160 RPM actually buys you

Most electric grinders spin their burrs somewhere between 1200 and 1600 RPM. This one runs at 160. Grinding is friction, friction is heat, and less speed means less heat going into the grounds on the way through.

The trade is time. A 160 RPM motor moves a dose slowly, and that is the whole design: a 30 g chamber and a slow motor are a matched pair, built for one coffee at a time rather than for filling a carafe. If you want a grinder that clears a dose in eight seconds, this is deliberately not it.

CAFOVO G1048C Coffee Grinder, 48mm Conical Burr, Single Dose

Single dosing, and why the accessories matter

A single-dose grinder is only as good as what happens after the burrs. Grounds that stay in the chute belong to the last coffee you ground, and grounds that cling to a plastic cup end up on the counter instead of in the basket. That is what the press-to-air blower and the magnetic cup are for, and both come in the box rather than being sold alongside.

What we will not tell you is how much retention is left after the blower. The manufacturer calls it near-zero and publishes no measurement, and a retention figure is exactly the kind of number that is easy to print and hard to stand behind. If it decides your purchase, ask us and we will put the question to the supplier in writing.
