Shipping and delivery

How long will it take to receive my order?

  • Handling time: 1–3 business days
  • Transit time: 6–8 business days
  • Estimated total delivery time: 7–11 business days

Full details are in our Shipping Policy.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes. Shipping is free on every order within the United States, with no minimum order value.

Do you ship internationally?

Not at the moment. We ship within the United States only.

How can I track my order?

A tracking number is emailed to you as soon as your order leaves the warehouse. Our Track Your Order page explains what to expect and when to worry.

Do I pay customs or import duties?

No. You will not be asked to pay customs, import duties or any other charge on delivery. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay.

Orders, returns and refunds

Can I cancel my order after placing it?

Yes, at any time before it ships, not just within a fixed window. Email us as soon as you can and we will cancel it for a full refund. Once an order has been dispatched it has to be handled as a return.

What is your return policy?

Thirty days from delivery, on unused items in their original packaging. There is no restocking fee, and return shipping is free whatever the reason. The full process is in our Refund Policy.

Do I have to pay to send something back?

No. Contact us before returning anything and we will send you a return label. Please do not buy postage yourself: we can only cover return shipping that we have arranged.

What if I receive a defective product?

We replace it or refund it at no cost to you, and we pay the return shipping. Email us with photos or a short video and your order number. Do this before opening a payment dispute. It is faster.

When will I get my refund?

Once your return arrives and we have inspected it, the refund is issued within 5 business days to your original payment method. Your bank may take a few days more to post it.

What guarantee do I have?

Every order is covered by our 30-day return right, and by our own commitment: if a grinder arrives damaged, fails to power on, or does not work as specified, we resolve it with you directly.

We do not quote manufacturer warranty terms we cannot stand behind. Where a manufacturer publishes one, it is stated on that product page. Where none is published, we say so instead of inventing a number.

How do I exchange a product?

We do not process direct exchanges. Return the item for a refund and place a new order. It is faster, and it means you are not waiting on two shipments in sequence. See our Refund Policy.

Choosing a grinder

Do I really need a burr grinder? My blade grinder works.

A blade grinder chops beans into wildly different sizes. Some particles over-extract and taste bitter, others under-extract and taste sour, in the same cup. Burrs cut beans to a consistent size, which is what makes a brew repeatable. It is the single biggest upgrade most home setups can make.

Conical or flat burrs: does it matter?

For everyday filter coffee, not much. For espresso, larger flat burrs generally give more consistent results, which is why higher-end espresso grinders tend to use them. If you brew pour-over, drip or French press, a good conical burr grinder is plenty.

Can one grinder do both espresso and filter?

Most can adjust across both ranges, but there is usually a compromise. A grinder optimised for espresso often struggles to go coarse enough for French press without clumping, and the reverse is also true. If you brew one method 90% of the time, choose for that method. We say which is which on each product page.

Which grinder should I buy?

Email us with your brew method, your machine if you have one, and your budget. We will tell you which of our grinders fits, and if none of them do, we will say that too.

Using your grinder

Grounds are flying everywhere. What am I doing wrong?

Nothing. That is static, and it is worse in dry rooms and winter air. A light mist of water on the beans before grinding stops it almost completely. This is known as the Ross Droplet Technique and it costs nothing.

Can I grind anything other than coffee?

No. Our grinders are designed for roasted coffee beans only. Green beans, spices, sugar and anything oily or hard will damage the burrs and void any manufacturer warranty that applies.
