Description
A blade grinder does not grind. It chops, and it hands you a mix of boulders and dust that brews sour and bitter in the same cup.
Conical burrs cut every bean to the size you set, so the water pulls the same thing out of every particle. You find a setting that works, write down its number, and get the same cup tomorrow morning.
- A setting you can come back to: the steps are numbered and the grinder remembers your last dose setting, so what worked yesterday is something you write down rather than hunt for again each morning.
- Grounds land in the basket, not on the counter: portafilter holders in both common sizes and a magnetic dosing cup are in the box, so the espresso dose transfers instead of scattering.
- Cleanup stays a two-minute job: the grounds container is treated so grounds pour out instead of clinging, and the brush and bellows for clearing the chute are included.
- One grinder instead of two: the setting range runs from espresso to French press, so filter brewing does not need a second machine on the counter.

Skip it if you chase shot times to the second: this is a stepped grinder, so you cannot fine-tune between steps, and you close the gap with dose and tamp instead. Buy a stepless espresso grinder; we sell those too. Skip it if you want single dosing and near-zero retention: this is a hopper grinder, and some grounds stay in the chute between doses. That is the design, not a defect. And skip it if you expect a high-end machine at an entry price, what you are buying is the jump from chopped to cut. That jump is large. The next one costs several times as much.

Frequently asked questions
Start with the brew method, not the spec sheet. Espresso needs a fine, repeatable grind and rewards flat burrs or a stepless conical. Pour-over, drip and French press run coarser and are far more forgiving, so a stepped conical covers all three.
